Dave and Nate took a ride out at the White Tanks this past Sunday. The trail system reminds me a lot of Desert Classic out at South Mountain. We rode the trail and added in the tech loop. Its not a particularly long loop but it was hot as hell so we only did the loop once.
Trail is very fast a flowy and the tech section was pretty fun too.
Mileage for the ride was right at 7miles.
Our Mountain Bike Club is a group of guys who gather to ride trails throughout the valley and state of Arizona. We will work to be stewards of our trails and try to give back as much as they give us. Our overall goals are to live a life in better shape, health and improve our riding skills.

FINS (Fantasy Island North Singletrack) Memorial Day Ride
Nate, Dave and Jeremy made the drive out to the base of Estrella Mountain to check out FINS. We weren't really sure what to expect but Nate had heard that the trails out here were good. We decided to take the circumference trail and see what it had to offer.
This trail system offers a little of everything which is cool. Some climbing lots of windy singletrack and a bit of flowy downhill.
Check out the map here
Total Mileage was 7ish.

Dreamy Draw May 8, 2011 Trail 8 - take 2
So this was supposed to be the big group ride the Outlaws have been unable to organise for a while but unfortunately some of the guys were unable to make it. Nate suggested they all meet at 6:30 to avoid the heat and get done early enough as it was mother's day. Unfortunately that didn't work out too well considering Nate didn't wake up until 6:45 :( Fortunately for him, Jeremy and Gary were patiently waiting for him when he finally rolled up at 7:30.
Jeremy hadn't been riding for about a month so he knew the ride was going to hurt but Nate struggled almost as much for the first part of the ride mainly due to dehydration.
They headed out in the same direction that Dane and Nate did the previous weekend and made their way to Trail 8. After Gary making Jeremy and Nate look like real amateurs cleaning just about all the techy parts on the way up, they all made it to the Obstacle.
Gary decided it would be a good idea to get a flat tire at this point...so after about 10 minutes repairing the tube he began to put the bike together. When filling the tire back up we here a big ppppssssshhhhh sound and all the air comes flowing out of the tube.... Damit! That tube was shot, so he replaced the tube completely.
The 3 of them worked on trying to clear this obstacle with out success :( A few falls later and about 10 trys each they headed back to the parking lot.
Below is the only pic of the day.
Mileage for the ride was 8 miles.

Dreamy Draw April 30, 2011 - Trail 8
After 3 weeks off for "the Britt's" wedding, Nate and Dane headed out for some much needed riding. They made their way up Trail 100 east towards 40th Street. At the trail 100 trail 8 junction they took Trail 8 in search of the Obstacle of the day.
After some rocky climbing gradually up Trail 8 we made it.
In the below video's you will see the attempts of Nate trying to clean this unfortunately it was out of reach for the day although he came really close.
After about 30+ attempts the two of them headed back to the parking lot and enjoyed some nice flowy downhill all the way back.
Total mileage for the ride was about 7 Miles.

Dreamy Draw January 16th 2011
So the Outlaws decided to do a Sunday afternoon ride this week as they all had a 3 day weekend. We also had a a buddy Gary come and ride with us too.
We started off with "The Highroad" which Gary made look easy. "Captain DF" and "Captain Obvious" Were lagging behind a bit. At the point in which the trail joins back with Trail 100 the "Rock Hound", "The Britt" and Gary made the climb up to the Downhill.
"The Britt" took the lead and led the other two down the trail. The most Gnarly part of the descent was too much for the two Outlaws but Gary conquered it all. Once everyone got past the tough part we continued on. "The Britt" still out front was making his way through the cutout part of the trail when CRASH... His front tire decided to pick a fight with a BIG ROCK. Guess what???? The ROCK WON!!!! As seen Below
The guys made their way back to the parking lot a little morecausiously aggressively than usual really pushing through the sweeping lefts and rights back to the waterfall, down through the tunnel back to the parking lot.
After some water and some Neosporin Spray (Thanks to Gary) "The Britt" was ready to ride again.
The Outlaws continued on and rode a few more trails successfully without any injuries and to our surprise "Captain Obvious" Conquered the Waterfall!!
Total Mileage for the ride was 7.5 miles
Two Days later "The Britt's" arm is still looking pretty chewed up...

Dreamy Draw Downhill
So "The Britt" did a little moonlighting and went for a ride with someone outside the club....This was to everyone's benefit as now he had new trail for everyone to ride.
So Saturday January 8th the 4 Outlaws got together for their weekly ride. This time though "The Britt" was taking the lead. Unfortunately this trail involves a fair amount of climbing almost immediately which was not well received by the rest of the guys. Some new vitamin combo was being tested out by our "Rock Hound" that apparently didn't agree with him. "Captain D.F" was a little worse for wear but after a Special K Protein bar courtesy of "The Britt" we were on our way again.
After a struggle to make it up to the top with many rests along the way we made to the highest point.
It is a nice view from here minus a certain persons finger being in the top left of this picture. "The Britt" showed the other 3 where we were headed next. Everyone seemed a little apprehensive of this new Downhill. So after a bit more resting....
We headed out.
Needless to say there were a few choice comments on how ridiculous the riding was but once we made it past the tough stuff everyone enjoyed the ride. This trail turns into some nice twisty riding where you can really pick up some speed. It ends with our "Waterfall" that "Captain Obvious" was obivously not feeling up to as there was a bit of a hike-a-bike happening.
This trail is about 2 miles all the way around with just about half of it being the climb up.
After this we made a couple more loops and headed out.
Total Mileage for the day was 5.08 miles

South MTN. "Fire Road" + "Mormon" + "National" = "THE ELIMINATIOR" (Saturday 01/01/11)
The "Rock Hound" and "The Britt" took on the South Mountain challenge to start off the New Year. At right around 8.5 miles total it was not only the longest duration constant ride we had both been on, but also the most technical. We rode for a total of 3+ hours, 2 1/2 of which were uphill. I am not sure what the exact elevation change was, but I can tell you that it was higher than either of us had climbed on a bike before. It was a great ride and will remain the measuring stick against which all other rides will be measured.
All Club Ride - "The High Road" (Friday 12/31/10)
Well it had been a little bit since we had all riden together and three of us had riden a little more often than the odd man out. It wasn't to hard to figure out who that was. Dave "The BIG D" shared some of his breakfast with the mountain and as it turns out..... the mountain didn't necessarily appreciate it. Dave went down twice! Normally that is Jermey.
